Music Lovers
Music is something that most of us enjoy so head over to iTunes tagging and check out the video demo. This would be heaven for those of us who absolutely must have that song and for those of you who watch Moonlight this product was seen in Beth's apartment when she came in. How cool is it that you can just put your phone in and voila music. You can see where you can find stations in your area and find out more about new country music stations . Why not look into getting this so your music will sound [...]
Albums You Are Afraid to Admit Liking
I know some people throw away years of listening and try to distance themselves from their earlier musical tastes. Some won’t even acknowledge the music that they listened to as a kid. I can’t understand how people can be like this. The music that I have loved stays with me. I might have moved away from pop music but I can still throw on my old Tiffany or Rick Ashley albums and sing along to them. My mother brought me up on country music. I still enjoy some of that as well. Conway Twitty is actually on [...]
Polish Funk Vol. I (PL)
Truth is I’m quite new to Polish music. Until some years ago, Polish music to me was only Skalpel and Warsaw Village Band . Knowing these bands was already a lot, given the distance to my home country and the way, unfortunately, music from countries such as Poland, Czech Rep., Lithuania,…, and even Portugal or Spain,… gets promoted across the rest of Europe and the world. Apart from some genres – Fado in Portugal and Jazz in Poland, everything else is simply ignored. As some might ask, is there any [...]
Carla Lynne Hall – Supernova
Moxie Entertainment I am not a fan of country music. In fact, you could go so far as to say that I hate it. So imagine my surprise when I found myself enjoying the soul-inflected country ballads on Carla Lynne Hall’s Supernova . If the folks at Ariel Publicity are smart, they will market Brooklyn-based Carla Lynne Hall as the female Gen X version of Charley Pride. As a black woman who can capably sing country-pop, Hall would not have to fight hard to stand out in the field. Hall’s handlers could play to [...]
Song History...Only the Lonely...
*FFS suggests downloading "Only The Lonely" from the Song List in the right column.Singing and playing his acoustic guitar, my brother, Douglas Wayne works his way into your heart with his natural vibrato voice. Doug didn't sing too much with us because he lived in California. This is one of my favorite songs that he sang. As you will notice, the recording is only the first verse. This song is on my list to redo when we get our music room set back up!Only The Lonely reach #1 in the United Kingdom and [...]
Amelia – A Long, Lovely List of Repairs
Adrenaline Music Group Those who love folk music will likely embrace the first-class songs on Amelia’s latest album. While the vibe may be too low-key for others, they should still be able to appreciate the meticulous craftsmanship of these songs. There is a country western feel to “Enemigo,” which has Spanish lyrics and strings, while “Farewell” is representative of the disc as a whole due to its gentle vocals and lulling rhythm. “Try” is among the best tracks, with a lovely, drawn out vocal [...]

Juno Canadians
The Juno Awards were on last night to celebrate great Canadian music. It was a pretty good show. The talent that we have in this country is amazing. I enjoyed all of the live performances. Russell Peters did a pretty good job as host. He admitted to not having seen the show before, which made him just like any other Canadian. That would be a funny joke if it weren’t so true. I don’t know why we don’t celebrate and hold up our own talent more often. We need the Juno Awards. We need programs that [...]
