Portal 2 Review

En A Student's Thoughts Published 5 days and 37 minutes ago.

‘This game needs more cake’ If science were as fun as Portal 2 makes out, no doubt we would all be on hover boards by now. That’s the point, Portal 2 reminds us that games ought to be about fun. The original Portal wasn’t much more than an experiment, designed to test the novelty puzzle solving portal gun, which gave the player full reign over the laws of motion. The game’s quirky story and minimalist art style struck a chord with audiences and it wasn’t long before Valve announced a full-blown [...]

Thinking with portals

En ~The Sitting Room~ Published 5 days and 20 hours and 32 minutes ago.

Without spoiling too much of Portal 2, this is the type of humour you expect from a game with a huge cult following. The Sitting Room presents the various signs of Portal 2. If you decide to play Portal 2, be sure to play the first one and read the comic linking the two or you’ll surely miss out on the experience. Ending has to one of the most best and epically funny endings for any game I’ve ever played. Remember the tagline: Think with portals.  [...]

Yet another Portal news of the day. A short film based on Valve’s Portal, who once debuted on Gamescom 2011, has finally reached the Internet thanks to its filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg, who has uploaded his work in his youtube account. This short film boasts a rather impressive display of special effects, a dark & gritty atmosphere and a really clever ending. See for yourself. Source: Slashfilm.com  [...]

Portal 2: Most Anticipated Game of 2011

En We Did It Games Published 1 hour and 9 minutes ago.

Any other year with a console Legend of Zelda title on the way, I’d tell you without a second thought that the next entry into one of Nintendo’s most beloved franchises is at the top of my most wanted list. This year, Valve is going to break that trend. It started with the original Portal. The title got my attention with online videos that demonstrated via witty, corporate themed isometric videos what the gameplay of Portal was all about. One word came to mind: Amazinglyeffingawesometimesten. Then [...]

En The Otaku's Blog Published 16 days and 56 minutes ago.

At the moment of my writing this, I’m running on 2 hours of sleep and a whole lot of Portal. My mind is whirring with both excitement and exhaustion. In 2007, Valve managed to perfectly combine innovation and comedy with … Continue reading →

GLaDOS is Here

En Plot is Gameplay's Bitch Published 29 days and 1 hour and 1 minute ago.

***UPDATE***My impressions of Portal 2 so far (no spoilers). The first five minutes are very promising indeed. The 'art appreciation' and the other interactions you're asked to perform are inventive and provide context for the story - even if some of them are a touch predictable. The rest of the game is... less of a jump forward in narrative than I was hoping. Gameplay? Sure: there's more of it, it's more complicated, tick that box. But the original Portal held some of the sharpest, funniest, darkest writing [...]

Time Portal?

En Melancholy Musings Published 7 days and 8 hours and 28 minutes ago.

So last night I decided to watch Criminal Minds and I thought I went through a time portal or something since it was Halloween but that's better than yet another show that's all about Christmas but with that said I did love the Supernatural episode even though I'm not a fan of the holiday and would rather sleep through it. Maybe on Tuesday I'll try to get some writing done since yes I've actually started writing a Moonlight story. Cheer or jeer as you see fit but it's been a while since I've written a fan [...]

En WildBlueSkies.com Published 8 days and 13 hours and 50 minutes ago.

Moreover, take a look at these facts: [...]
